Alpha Carinae^t1³²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Aidan Coleman| T: O Murphy| OR: 125| BF

10/3

Point/bumper and made a winning start over hurdles at Perth in September. Lost little caste in defeat when second to Aggy With It (winner again since) at Market Rasen (20.6f) and she's a key player.

Form: 11-12

Bourbon Beauty¹⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Harry Bannister| T: A M Hales

14/1

Fair form in bumpers last season and should be sharper following recent return/hurdles debut over 19.6f at Huntingdon. Still, this demands a sizeable step forward.

Form: 3533-4

Drumlee Getaway²⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Joshua Moore| T: S Edmunds

50/1

Winner of sole start between the flags, but was brushed aside when trailing in last of 6 on Rules debut in an Aintree bumper last month.

Form: 1-6

Global Harmony⁵⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton

5/1

Runner-up twice from 4 starts in bumpers and shaped well when 8½ lengths third to Alpha Carinae on hurdles debut at Perth (20.2f). 6 lb better off with that rival now and she's open to improvement.

Form: 9/272-3

Terrafirma Lady²⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: A King

33/1

Third in a Fontwell bumper on debut in August, but recent hurdling bow at Stratford wasn't overly inspiring. Yard saddles a far stronger candidate in The Glancing Queen.

Form: 367

The Glancing Queen¹⁴⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Tom Cannon| T: A King

4/6

Useful bumper form during 2018/19, and eighth of 23 in the Champion Bumper on sole start last term. No fireworks in a couple of spins on the Flat this year, but she's a good prospect in this sphere.

Form: 11351/8-

Forecasts

The Glancing Queen (4/6), Alpha Carinae (10/3), Global Harmony (5/1), Bourbon Beauty (14/1), Terrafirma Lady (33/1), Drumlee Getaway (50/1)

Judged on her bumper form a couple of seasons back, THE GLANCING QUEEN is potentially a cut-above these rivals. Indeed, she was a Grade 2 winner at the 2019 Aintree Grand National meeting and this former point winner can be expected to relish this step up in trip now switched to hurdles. Second choice is Global Harmony, who is taken to reverse Perth placings with Alpha Carinae on these terms.
