Creditable third off 11 lb higher mark at Southwell in July, but subsequent efforts have been poor. Has undergone a wind operation.

In good form over hurdles for new yard this season, adding to his tally when landing a 10-runner handicap here (2m) last month. On a potentially handy mark back in this sphere and needs considering.

Dual hurdles winner who was placed on first 2 starts in this sphere for Keith Dalgleish last season. Yet to fire for present yard, though, and hopes pinned on new headgear doing the trick here.

Strike rate is modest (1-30 overall), but hit the crossbar for the fourth time this year on first run following a wind op at Hereford (2m) 15 days ago. Cheekpieces refitted and shouldn't be far away.

Long-standing maiden. but a series of placed efforts in similar races confirm that he's not short of ability, including when third of 14 off this mark on return at Lingfield (2m). Each-way shout.

Back to form when taking advantage of a career-low mark at Huntingdon in March. However, overall record is very patchy indeed, and not in the same form in 2 starts so far this season.

Still a maiden under Rules but encouraging start for this yard (first run following 20 months off and a wind op) at Lingfield (2½m, soft). Good chance back in trip with quicker ground forecast here.

Has hit the frame both previous starts over fences, but looks pretty limited and is likely to find a few too good once more.

Forecasts

Muilean Na Madog (13/8), Glimpse Of Gold (15/8), Champion Chase (7/1), Wisecracker (8/1), Goldencard (12/1), Shady Oaks (14/1), Gold Fields (22/1), Torrent Des Mottes (40/1)

Verdict

MUILEAN NA MADOG wilted in the closing stages of his comeback run at Lingfield, but he's entitled to come on for that and makes plenty of appeal back down in trip off the same mark on his second start for the Dan Skelton yard. Glimpse of Gold will be a big threat if able to reproduce recent hurdles form back in this sphere, while Wisecracker and Champion Chase both have each-way claims.

  1. MUILEAN NA MADOG (IRE)
  2. GLIMPSE OF GOLD
  3. WISECRACKER
