Filey Bay¹⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Dillon Maxwell⁽⁷⁾| T: D Wall

15/2

80/1 but shaped with promise when fifth of 16 in bumper here (16f, soft) on NH debut 18 days ago, caught further back than ideal and finishing strongly. Open to improvement.

Form: 5

Garm Colombe

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Mr F Maguire| T: P Nolan

16/1

Saddler Maker gelding. Dam French 17f chase winner. In good hands so newcomer is not ruled out. Market can guide.

Hollow Games²⁵²

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Mr J J Codd| T: G Elliott

4/7

£255,000 4-y-o, Beat Hollow gelding. Closely related to fair 2½m hurdle winner Moyode Gold. Wide-margin winner of sole point so most interesting newcomer for yard that have great record in this event.

Form: 1-

Listening Mode

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Miss Amy Corrado⁽⁷⁾| T: B W Duke

80/1

Vocalised gelding. Dam 1¼m winner from family of Arazi and Noverre. Bred to be no back number so debutant is not totally dismissed.

Form:

Perfect Attitude

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Ms L O'Neill| T: G Elliott

17/2

Passing Glance gelding. Brother to bumper winner Dragon Bones, and half-brother to useful 2½m hurdle winner Flawless Escape. One for shortlist on debut but stable also represented by Hollow Games.

Form:

14/1

7/1, built on debut run when second of 7 in bumper at this course (16f, soft) 32 days ago, always well positioned. Can do better still but he will need to.

33/1

8/1, shaped well when second of 7 in bumper at Newcastle (14.3f, heavy) on NH debut, travelling best and collared only late on. Off 11 months but shouldn't be underestimated.

Form: 2-

Birthday Bayeb¹²

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: Mr H McOwan⁽⁷⁾| T: T Mullins

50/1

Has failed to build on debut bumper third at L.imerick, pulled up (40/1) at Fairyhouse 12 days ago when saddle slipped having pulled very hard. Needs to settle down.

Forecasts

Hollow Games (4/7), Filey Bay (15/2), Perfect Attitude (17/2), The Banger Doyle (11/1), Gordon's Jet (11/1), Sin A Bhfuil (14/1), Garm Colombe (16/1), Whowonthetoss (33/1), Birthday Bayeb (50/1), Listening Mode (80/1)

Gordon Elliott has won this contest with Malone Road and Samcro in recent years so his impressive point winner HOLLOW GAMES is fancied to get off to a winning start here and begin to repay his hefty price tag. Stable-companion Perfect Attitude is another newcomer well worth considering too, while Filey Bay appeals most of those with experience after an eye-catching debut fifth here last month.
