Improved from hurdling debut fitted with a tongue tie when fifth in 17-runner novice over C&D in September, but needs more.

£20,000 buy from the family of smart chaser Domaine de L'isle. Has shown plenty to work on when placed in a pair of bumpers 8 months apart, so well worth considering now going hurdling up in trip.

Brother to very smart hurdler/useful chaser Summerville Boy. Won sole start in Irish points but sent off 33/1 and got no further than the first (unseated) on Bangor hurdle debut 3 days ago.

Runner-up both starts in France and shaped well back from a layoff on sole start for Willie Mullins in February. Proved too free on yard debut at Hereford but this will reveal more. Hood on 1st time.

Maiden Irish pointer who was seemingly much improved when ½-length second of 9 in C&D novice 15 days ago, though very much had the run of the race, so whether he backs that up remains to be seen.

€48,000 3-y-o, £36,000 5-y-o, Oscar gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Timetoget and fair hurdler Benissimo, stays 21f. Dam bumper winner. Off mark in points at fifth attempt last time.

Made little impact in 3 starts over hurdles for Alan King in 2018/19, so looks watched on this return to action for new yard after 20 months off.

From good family top yard knows well and she was impressive in making a winning start in a course bumper. Failed to settle under a conditional next time but should do better now hurdling.

Forecasts

Buttsbury Lady (2/1), Lucky One (9/4), Gumbo Flyer (7/1), Bohemian Maestro (7/1), What About Time (10/1), Top Drawer (11/1), Yesandno (18/1), Cider Kilt (40/1), Locallink (50/1), Sing The Anthem (80/1), Battletank (300/1)

Verdict

LUCKY ONE proved too free on his yard debut at Hereford last month but his previous form marks him down as the one to beat still, so he's well worth another chance in a first-time hood, especially with his stable flying. Gumbo Flyer and Buttsbury Lady are a couple from the bumper sphere who merit consideration on this switch to hurdling.

  1. LUCKY ONE (FR)
  2. GUMBO FLYER (FR)
