JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle (Registered As The Prestbury Juvenile Hurdle) (Grade 2) (GBB Race)

Off time: 12:31 | Winning time: 4m 6.65s

Duffle Coat¹⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 11-3| J: R M Power| T: G Elliott| D

2/1

Unbeaten in 3 starts to date, taking a marked step forward as he forged clear in the Wensleydale at Wetherby on British debut 15 days ago. Excellent claims with stiff track sure to suit.

Form: 111

Adagio⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe| D

6/1

Fairly useful in 3 races on the Flat in France and off the mark at the first attempt over hurdles at Warwick 8 days ago, well on top at the finish. Should improve, so warrants consideration.

Form: 1

Balko Saint⁴³

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: C Gethings| T: Mrs J Williams| OR: 113| BF

18/1

French-bred gelding who has been runner-up on both outings in juvenile hurdles, improving his form at Fontwell 43 days ago. This requires a more substantial step forward.

Form: 22

Billy The Squid^b³⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: P J Brennan| T: F O'Brien| OR: 107

125/1

Fair hurdler who isn't the most straightforward and yet to open his account in 6 attempts, so hard to imagine he'll feature in this.

Form: 742F23

Cabot Cliffs^h¹⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR: 125| D

11/1

Steadily progressive on Flat for Charlie Hills and looked a useful recruit to the hurdling when making a successful start at Uttoxeter. Underwhelming behind Duffle Coat at Wetherby next time, though.

Form: 13

Hell Red³⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| D

11/10

Brother to smart hurdler/chaser Hell Boy and, following an encouraging start in France, looked an exciting prospect when readily clearing away in a juvenile hurdle at Chepstow. Leading claims.

Form: 2-1

Historic Heart³¹

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: S Bowen| T: N J Hawke| OR: 118| D

25/1

Fair Flat maiden who has already bettered that level as a hurdler, taking his tally in this sphere to two when landing a juvenile at Wetherby last time. Not discounted if he progress again.

Form: 3141

Jersey Grey²³

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: M G Nolan| T: Alexandra Dunn| D

125/1

Only modest on the Flat for Jamie Osborne but has left that form behind over jurdles, opening his account with little to spare at Juvenile in October. This looks a whole lot tougher, though.

Form: 51

Forecasts

Hell Red (11/10), Duffle Coat (2/1), Adagio (6/1), Cabot Cliffs (11/1), Balko Saint (18/1), Historic Heart (25/1), Billy The Squid (125/1), Jersey Grey (125/1)

HELL RED jumped well as he made light work of landing a juvenile at Chepstow on his first start in this country and, with a similarly assured round, he can get the better of Duffle Coat, who is unbeaten but concedes 5 lb all round. Adagio is another one to consider.
