9/1, made most promising hurdling bow when third of 13 in novice at Ludlow (15.8f, good) 21 days ago, finishing well under a patient ride. Has plenty more to offer so looks very hard to beat.

5/4

250/1
Very lightly raced ex-French gelding. 200/1 and tongue strap on, offered little after long absence when pulled up in novice hurdle at Carlisle (20f, soft) 21 days ago. Big step forward is required.

£3,000 6-y-o, Millenary gelding. Dam modest staying maiden hurdler. Dual point winner so hurdling newcomer is much respected on yard debut. Market can guide.

Fair form when twice placed in bumpers but (50/1) pulled up in novice at Wetherby (19.7f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 29 days ago. Lots to prove now.

Ex-Irish gelding who showed nothing in two maiden hurdles and a bumper for Liam Lennon. Back after 15 months off with it all to prove for his new handler.

Well-related son of Milan but he has cut little ice in Hexham bumper and 20f Carlisle novice hurdle (150/1). Sort to do better in long term though.

5/1, well-held fourth of 5 in bumper at Doncaster (16.6f, heavy) on NH debut 8 months ago. Goes hurdling now but this winning Irish pointer is worth another chance with yard among the winners.

250/1
No sign of ability in three bumpers and (250/1) only twelfth of 14 in novice at Hexham (16.2f, soft) on hurdles bow 33 days ago. Up in trip but very hard to enthuse over.

Forecasts

African Dance (1/1), C'Est Le Bonheur (5/4), Etoile Du Matin (10/1), Whitechurch (18/1), Foster'sisland (20/1), Brinkhill (50/1), Stitch Up (80/1), Shantou City (200/1), Tooyou (250/1), Durlington (250/1)

Verdict

A real mixed bag but AFRICAN DANCE looks a young hurdler who could go on to better things so he is strongly fancied to build on his eye-catching debut third at Ludlow and open his account. C'est Le Bonheur is no slouch either but looks set to be placed again with newcomers Etoile du Matin and Whitechurch much the pick of the remainder.

  1. AFRICAN DANCE (IRE)
  2. C'EST LE BONHEUR (FR)
  3. ETOILE DU MATIN (IRE)
