Horse A-Z
Useful form in bumpers last season and duly landed the odds when cosily seeing off subsequent winner Bravemansgame on return/hurdles debut at Chepstow (2m, good). Bright prospect.

Fair performer at up to 1¾m on the Flat, a 6-time winner in that sphere. Bred for this game (brother to winning hurdler Ninepointsixthree), but there'll be easier opportunities than this.

Fetched £280,000 after landing an Irish maiden point in March. Joined a leading yard and very much one to note in the betting on this Rules debut.

Dual winner on the level, but failed to land a blow on sole previous start in this sphere and refused to race on intended debut for this yard in a handicap here (Flat) 12 days ago.

Smart on the Flat (stays 1¾m) for Richard Hannon, runner-up in Goodwood listed race when last seen in May 2019. Will be a danger to all on debut in this sphere if that level of ability remains intact.

Fetched €85,000 as a 3-y-o and he's a half-brother to 4 winners, including high-class hurdler/top-class chaser Simonsig and useful chaser Drumcliff. With top yard and one to note in the betting.

Runner-up in a Stratford bumper in March 2019 on debut/sole start for Nick Williams. Beaten a fair way on hurdles bow for new yard last October and absent since, but should do better in time.

Winning pointer who showed signs of ability when a never-dangerous seventh of 12 in novice at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) on Rules debut. Probably more of a long-term prospect.

Fairly useful handicapper on the Flat for this yard, but stamina has to be taken on trust now switched to hurdles (untried beyond 8.3f on the level).

€200,000 half-brother to smart hurdler/useful chaser Vision des Flos and bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Umndeni. Promising third in Carlisle bumper on debut and could be a force now hurdling.

Showed ability on the first of his 2 starts in bumpers for Willie Mullins in 2019, but big step forward needed on debut for new yard now switched to hurdles following a 14-month absence.

Has shown ability in both starts over hurdles, but not enough to suggest he'll be good enough to win a race of this nature.

Forecasts

Soaring Glory (5/6), Dusart (7/4), Amarillo Sky (5/1), Danehill Kodiac (12/1), No Risk Des Flos (22/1), Zhiguli (80/1), Pencreek (125/1), Mr Tyrrell (125/1), Mongol Emperor (150/1), Buckland Boy (150/1), In Rem (200/1), Agent Gibbs (250/1)

Verdict

Despite his penalty and several intriguing opponents, SOARING GLORY will prove hard to beat. He showed bundles of ability in bumpers and did the job well on his Chepstow hurdles debut last month. Amarillo Sky cost a packet after winning an Irish point and is feared most, though former smart Flat peformer Danehill Kodiac and newcomer Dusart are also of interest, along with No Risk Des Flos.
