Still a maiden, and well held when falling 2 out in handicap hurdle at Warwick (21f, good) on return. Others appeal more.

Useful bumper winner for Lydia Pearce but yet to hit that form over hurdles, only ninth in handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (20.7f) final start. Has it to prove now on comeback after 9 months off.

In frame all three runs over hurdles last term for Lucy Normile, very good third of 12 in 20f novice at Musselburgh final one. Makes handicap debut now and interesting recruit for in-form yard.

Thrice-raced maiden. 25/1, encouraging fourth after 7 months off in novice hurdle at Hexham (20.1f, soft) 20 days ago. Into handicaps now but needs to find more off stiff opening mark.

Failed to build on her second in 20f handicap here last December, beating only one at Kelso final run. Tongue strap fitted for her comeback and needs to bounce back.

50/1, easily best of his three runs when third in 17f novice hurdle at Sedgefield 19 months ago. Back from long absence now with his fitness to prove on handicap bow.

Ended last season in good form over hurdles but (16/1) looked rusty after 8 months off when only ninth of 12 in 2m handicap at Uttoxeter 14 days ago. Should strip fitter now so respected.

Encouraging third in 2m Newcastle novice hurdle and not disgraced on return when fifth at Hexham (16.2f) 45 days ago, needing stiffer test. Well worth considering on handicap bow now up in trip.

Modest maiden hurdler/chaser. First run since leaving Christopher Kellett when below-form fifth in Perth handicap chase on return. Visored now with bit to prove back over hurdles.

Poor hurdler. 300/1, pulled up in 2m novice at Uttoxeter last time. Tries much longer trip now going handicapping but very hard to make a case for.

Fair ex-Irish hurdler but he has shown little for current yard, only ninth of 12 in 20f handicap at Uttoxeter on reappearance. Easily opposed.

Forecasts

Doyen Breed (11/4), Clondaw Storm (3/1), Katahdin (11/2), One More Fleurie (7/1), Say The Word (17/2), Cyrus Keep (10/1), Devour (12/1), Raddle And Hum (14/1), Artic Mann (14/1), Tour De Pub (40/1), The Furrows End (40/1), Black Market (150/1)

Verdict

A case can be made for a few but the most persuasive one is for DOYEN BREED who showed promise without winning for Lucy Normile last season and is expected to kick on now handicapping for his excellent new yard. Handicap debutant Cyrus Keep promises to be suited by this step up in trip so is feared most, although Say The Word is worth a second look too with his reappearance run under his belt.

  2. CYRUS KEEP (IRE)
  3. SAY THE WORD
