Western Run²³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-9| J: J M Moore| T: G P Cromwell| OR: 132

3/1

Useful hurdler who made it 2-4 runs this season with career best in novice hurdle at Killarney (22.8f, good) 23 days ago. This is tougher but another bold showing is on the cards.

Form: 33-2311

Tullybeg^t¹⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-8| J: Keith Donoghue| T: G Elliott| OR: 131

11/1

Evens, best effort when scoring in 10-runner novice hurdle at Downpatrick (22.5f, good to soft) 19 days ago, soon clear. More needed here though but he's not dismissed.

Form: F4-12U1

Ruaille Buaille²¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: Paul Townend| T: W P Mullins| BF| C

4/1

Useful bumper winner who made successful hurdling bow here before good fourth in novice hurdle at Galway (19.1f, soft) 21 days ago when not enjoying best of runs after bad error 2 out. Good claims.

Form: 3-2114

Cask Mate^t¹⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-2| J: Sean Flanagan| T: N Meade| OR: 121

9/2

Fairly useful hurdler who arrives on back of easy novice hurdle win at Limerick (16f, heavy) 17 days ago. This demands lot more but much respected up in trip.

Form: 12222/1

Kaatskill Nap¹⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-2| J: D J Mullins| T: W P Mullins| D

22/1

Fairly useful 21f hurdle winner but he came in last of 21 in handicap on Flat at the Curragh 17 days ago when possibly something amiss. Bit to prove now back hurdling.

Form: 332/15

Friary Rock^b¹⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Phillip Enright| T: M F Morris| OR: 123| D

11/2

Winner of 20f hurdle at Sligo in August and would have gone close in 3m minor event at Cork 10 days ago but for falling at the last. Firmly in the mix.

Form: 7-7123F

Forecasts

Western Run (3/1), Dewcup (4/1), Ruaille Buaille (4/1), Cask Mate (9/2), Friary Rock (11/2), Tullybeg (11/1), Kaatskill Nap (22/1)

A useful novice in which RUAILLE BUAILLE is taken to come out on top having been somewhat unfortunate not to score at Galway earlier in the month when making a proper hash of the second last. Western Run will ensure Willie Mullins' progressive mare doesn't have things all her own way though, and both Friary Rock and Dewcup are considered too in an intriguing contest.
