Placed in bumpers and promising enough start over hurdles, fifth at Newcastle on handicap debut 9 months ago. Should give it a good go from the front.

Left previous hurdling efforts well behind when third in a novice at Hexham 22 days ago, catching the eye with some good late work. Further will suit ideally but he can still get involved.

No impression in a couple of bumpers, looking in need of experience, so likely to have an educational hurdling debut after 7 months off.

Stepped up on debut when third in a bumper at Ayr 9 months ago. Still likely to come up short for ability switched to hurdling.

Down the field in a bumper but more encouragement when sixth of 8 in a novice at Perth on hurdling debut 11 months later. He's likely to need more time, though.

Cost plenty as a store but hasn't offered much in a trio of bumpers. Switched to hurdling after 7 months off.

Very little impact in trio of bumpers for Thomas Costello in Ireland and a novice hurdle at Hexham for new stable. Readily passed over.

Encouragement in bumpers and shaped well when third in a novice at Perth on hurdling debut, tiring late on his first outing for over 8 months. Should take the beating now

Well held in bumpers and yet to complete over hurdles, so makes no appeal.

Forecasts

Universal Folly (6/4), Hart Of Steel (2/1), Dubai Days (11/4), Muhtamar (16/1), Spark Of Madness (20/1), Style Nelson (33/1), Paddy The Panda (40/1), Thomas Labeille (66/1), Fair Lady (125/1), Diamond Road (300/1)

Verdict

UNIVERSAL FOLLY showed up well on hurdling debut and should strip fitter for the run, so he's fancied to find enough improvement to get off the mark at the second attempt over hurdles. Dubai Days achieved a fair level of form last season but might not be fully tuned up, so recent Hexham eye-catcher Hart of Steel is regarded as the main danger.
