Winner of Taunton novice hurdle last season and didn't shape badly on return/chase debut in September. Disapponting at Ffos Las next time, though, and now tried in cheekpieces/tongue strap.

Runner-up first 4 starts over fences in 2019, and again hit the crossbar back from a break at Southwell (20.4f) in August. Remains on a feasible mark and should make his presence felt.

Didn't kick on from hurdles success here in May 2019 and while he performed with credit on second chase start at Bangor in July, his latest effort left much to be desired.

Winning hurdler who was runner-up on first completion over fences at Kelso (21.6f), a race he may have won but for clouting the final 2 fences. 1 lb lower now and big chance if avoiding mistakes here.

Verdict

Late mistakes ultimately proved costly for FRESH NEW DAWN at Kelso where he shaped as though ahead of his mark for much of the way. The 8-y-o is 1 lb lower now and will have every chance of going one better if producing a more sure-footed round of jumping this time. Troed Y Melin lacks a recent run but will be a threat if fully tuned-up following a break, while Twasn't The Plan also has claims.
