Smart gelding. Five wins from 17 Flat runs. 10/1, respectable 7 lengths third of 7 to Spanish Mission in Doncaster Cup at Doncaster (17.9f, good to firm) 38 days ago, well positioned. Good chance.

Improving colt who followed up his wide-margin Catterick win at Goodwood (2m) last month, having benefit of enterprising ride. This is obviously tougher but needs respecting given his recent progress.

Forecasts

Stag Horn (1/1), The Grand Visir (6/4), Lucky Deal (8/1), Fun Mac (16/1), Happy Hollow (28/1), Leannes Lady (300/1)

Verdict

THE GRAND VISIR wasn't disgraced in the Doncaster Cup on his latest outing and can make the most of this drop in grade. Lucky Deal ran poorly at Newbury when last seen but has undergone a gelding operation since and can provide the main threat ahead of improving 3-y-o Stag Horn.

  1. THE GRAND VISIR
  2. LUCKY DEAL
  3. STAG HORN
