Smart sprinter at his best, runner-up in Chipchase at Newcastle (6f) in June. However, not scaled same heights in trio of subsequent starts at Group level and others preferred for win purposes.

Progressive in 2019, winning 5 times in all, including twice over C&D. Worked his way back to form this campaign, third at Doncaster (5f) early last month. No surprise to see a bold display.

Gained deserved win in Stewards' Cup at Goodwood and not disgraced in 3 subsequent outings, keeping on for third from an unpromising position at the Curragh (6f) 14 days ago. Should go well again.

Better for return in Diamond Jubilee when second in a 6f, Newbury Group 3 and not disgraced when midfield in Sprint Cup at Haydock 5 weeks ago. Definite possibilities eased in class.

Three wins from 4 starts as a 2-y-o and improved again this term, posting a career-best display when getting on top late at Newmarket (6f, listed) in August. This demands more but he's respected.

Had a productive winter on the all-weather (mainly fibresand), but was taken well out of her comfort zone over a speedy 5f back on turf at Newmarket in June. Others preferred.

Listed/Group 3 winner at Sandown last summer. Has been banging her head against a wall at Group 1 level this year though, and her best runs to date have come at 5f.

Forecasts

Dakota Gold (13/8), The Tin Man (5/2), Summerghand (5/1), Brando (6/1), Brad The Brief (10/1), Stormy Girl (14/1), Kurious (28/1), Hareem Queen (50/1)

Verdict

DAKOTA GOLD wasn't beaten far but was arguably not at his very best at Doncaster early last month, a busy spell and a track that doesn't suit his style ideally both possible factors. Some of his very best efforts have come at this venue however, and he is taken to resume winning ways, possibly at the chief expense of The Tin Man and Stewards' Cup hero Summerghand.

  1. DAKOTA GOLD
  2. THE TIN MAN
  3. SUMMERGHAND (IRE)
