Progressed well last summer, scoring at Uttoxeter and Southwell. Fell at Cheltenham Festival in March and just respectable efforts both starts this season. Will find this less competitive.

Prolific over hurdles and finally off the mark over fences in 3-runner novice at Wetherby when last seen in March. Will find this more competitive but may still have more to offer in this sphere.

Developed into a useful hurdler for Dan Skelton in 2018. Failed to fire in 3 chase starts for that yard last year but better signs when fourth on Market Rasen return for new stable in July.

Bumper/multiple hurdles winner who put it all together over fences when an agonising second behind one in really good nick at Hereford (25f) a year ago. Not seen since but remains low mileage.

Cashed in on a reduced mark over the larger obstacles at Cartmel in July and creditable third back over hurdles there following month. Capable of going well again but does throw in the odd bad run.

Off the mark for current stable in convincing fashion at Stratford in July and quickly back to form when third there this month. Longer trip may suit.

Ended last season on a high when taking advantage of a drop in the weights at Uttoxeter in March. Not the most consistent but can go well fresh and still on a fair mark back over fences.

Fairly useful hurdler but form was patchy last season. Showed aptitude for chasing both starts this term and may do better back up in trip on handicap debut in this sphere with headgear re-fitted.

Forecasts

Manofthemountain (9/2), Commodore Barry (8/1), The Vollan (8/1), Captain Tommy (17/2), Bbold (17/2), Versatility (17/2), Boughtbeforelunch (9/1), Mahlermade (10/1), Royal Village (11/1), Solstice Star (12/1), The Welsh Paddies (14/1), Federici (22/1), Notnow Seamus (33/1), Graineyhill (100/1)

Verdict

MANOFTHEMOUNTAIN was most progressive last season, winning all 3 of his completed starts in novice handicap chases for this yard, and remains one to be positive about despite being off the track since December. Solstice Star ended last season on a high and is on a winning mark back over fences, while Royal Village is dropping in class but does have his stamina to prove.
