5/6

Useful hurdler who has made a positive start to chasing, sauntering to success at Southwell before going down narrowly to a talented rival at Uttoxeter last time. Strong claims back up in trip.

Brecon Hill^t³²³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: Nick Scholfield| T: Mrs S J HumphreyWS

50/1

Dual winning hurdler who shaped as if amiss on his sole outing last season, so hard to make a case for making chase debut on the back of a 10-month absence.

Form: 1214P/P-

Cool Destination³⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: P J Brennan| T: F O'Brien| OR: 122| C| D

15/2

Winning Irish pointer who has shown fair form over hurdles and got off the mark in determined style in a 4-runner course novice last month. Type to do better still over fences.

Form: 652/24-1

Diomede Des Mottes^t²⁶²

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| D

10/3

Dual hurdle winner who shaped well back in a handicap at Aintree (3m) in November and can have his subsequent effort excused. Ex who should take to chasing, so solid claims.

Form: 1/1420P-

Snow Leopardess²⁷⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 10-7| J: B S Hughes| T: C E Longsdon

5/1

Course winner. Progressive hurdler in 2017 and showed that she retains plenty of ability when second in a handicap at Doncaster 9 months ago. Has the physique for chasing but this is a big ask.

Form: 1311/92-

Forecasts

The Butcher Said (5/6), Diomede Des Mottes (10/3), Snow Leopardess (5/1), Reve (6/1), Cool Destination (15/2), Brecon Hill (50/1)

THE BUTCHER SAID came a long way clear with Longhouse Sale at Uttoxeter last time and should be able to make amends back up in trip. He has some interesting chasing debutants in opposition, notably Cool Destination and Diomede des Mottes, who both have a pointing background and represent top stables.
