Cosily accounting for 9 rivals in 5f Thirsk novice on second start last month and he cashed in on a lenient opening mark at Chester a fortnight ago. 9 lb rise could be lenient.

Put experience to good use when landing 11-runner maiden at Chepstow in August (6f). Better form when runner-up both starts since, including on nursery debut, but has to prove as effective at 5f.

Attracted support and showed plenty of ability on debut when runner-up at Beverley in August. Showed plenty of pace when occupying same spot at York and her limit hasn't been reached.

Verdict

RIFFAA WONDER is improving at a rate of knots, well on top when making a successful nursery debut at Chester a fortnight ago, and the assessor has yet to get a grip on him despite a 9 lb rise. Atalis Bay also chases a hat-trick and is feared, while it will be interesting to see whether Richard Fahey can elicit more from Blind Beggar.
