Left bumper run behind when making all on Bangor hurdling debut in July. Only 4¼ lengths second of 6 to Black Kraken in similar event at Cartmel last time but is 8 lb better off with that rival here.
Poor on the Flat but proved a different proposition second time up over hurdles when winning 6-runner novice at Cartmel (17.2f) 23 days ago. Can go well under a penalty.
Prone to hanging left but did open hurdles account at Huntingdon in March. Below form at Southwell in July and seemed to be found wanting for stamina at Market Rasen since. Back down in trip.
Winning debut in Newcastle bumper last December, but has failed to make much of an impact in 2 starts in this sphere to date.
Fell both starts in Irish points and failed to beat a rival home over C&D on recent hurdling bow.
Clear signs of ability in a bumper/2 novice hurdles last season and may yet do better, particularly once moving back up in trip.
Showed fair form when placed all 3 starts in bumpers in 2018/19. Has 19-month absence to overcome but is in good hands ahead of this switch to hurdling, so worth a look.
Regressive on the Flat and showed little sent hurdling when pulled up at Cartmel last month.
Related to plenty of winners but hasn't offered much in a pair of bumpers/novice hurdle.
Improved on debut form when finishing last of 3 in a Carlisle bumper in March, though was possibly flattered in a slowly-run affair. Goes hurdling now with tongue tie fitted.
Diamond Boy mare. Half-sister to useful hurdler Burrows Edge and useful hurdler Burrows Park. Well held on hurdling debut at Senonnes-Pouance for O. Sauvaget (Apr 2019).
Fair on Flat (stays 16.5f), won twice in 2020 including when dead-heating at Ripon on latest outing. Makes hurdles debut for another new yard.
Forecasts
Away At Dawn (6/4), Rhosneigr (4/1), Fostered Phil (5/1), Black Kraken (6/1), Reassurance (8/1), Aire Valley Lad (16/1), Cyrus Keep (16/1), Burrows Diamond (50/1), The Gap (80/1), Saint Arvans (100/1), Be The Difference (200/1), Jukebox Blues (200/1)
BLACK KRAKEN caused a surprise when making his second hurdle start a winning one at Cartmel last month, but with the effort backed up by the clock, he's taken to confirm the form with Away At Dawn and defy a penalty. Rhosneigr may provide the biggest threat back down in trip.
