Grundon Waste Management Novices' Chase (GBB Race)

Off time: 15:00 | Winning time: 4m 30.10s

Seddon²⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-8| J: Adrian Heskin| T: T R George| OR: 137| C

7/4

Pretty useful hurdler who was evidently fitter for his comeback over fences when landing a small-field novices' handicap chase at Cartmel (21f) last month. Ease in trip no problem and shortlisted.

Form: 3373/51

Boreham Bill¹⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 11-2| J: Ben Jones⁽³⁾| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR: 129| C

10/3

Fairly useful hurdles winner who stepped up on sole previous chase effort despite some less than fluent jumping when third at Newton Abbot (21f) recently. Needs to sharpen up to feature here.

Form: 367/10-3

Crooks Peak²⁵⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-2| J: R Johnson| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR: 133

11/2

Useful hurdler, who rattled off a hat-trick at around 2m during 2018/19 campaign. Respectable efforts on 2 of his 3 starts last winter and no reason why he won't make his mark now sent chasing.

Form: 10/4440-

Darling Maltaix^h,t³⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-2| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 126

5/1

Yet to win over fences but has shown fairly useful form and failed to stay 3m at Uttoxeter in July (shaped well for a long way). Latest course effort easily overlooked and he's no forlorn hope.

Form: 52P-33P

Lungarno Palace¹⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-2| J: P J Brennan| T: F O'Brien| OR: 127| C

5/1

Fairly useful hurdler who reached a similar level when second in a Uttoxeter novice chase (2m) back in May 2019. Fit from respectable hurdle spins in recent months and not ruled out.

Form: 4/2U7-24

Rumble B¹⁷⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: Nick Scholfield| T: Mrs S J Humphrey| OR: 113

150/1

Fair form at best in handful of starts over fences but handed a stiff opening mark and well beaten on handicap debut at Market Rasen (23f) in March. Set a stiff task now sights are set on chasing.

Form: 3/P427-

Non-Runners

Furiously Fast²⁸⁷

Weight: 11-2| Age: 8

T: D Burchell J: R T Dunne

Forecasts

Seddon (7/4), Boreham Bill (10/3), Darling Maltaix (5/1), Lungarno Palace (5/1), Crooks Peak (11/2), Furiously Fast (25/1), Rumble B (150/1)

SEDDON was evidently fitter for his chasing comeback and was value for more than the winning margin suggests when landing a 21f novices' handicap at Cartmel last month, his sweeping move to go clear telling on him late in the day. The drop in trip will hold no fears and he can continue the good work. Darling Maltaix, back down in trip, and chase-debutant Crooks Peak head up the dangers.
