Progressive at 2, winning 7f events before good efforts in defeat in Group 3s in France. Underwhelming in Queen's Vase on return but his third in the Bahrain Trophy since was much more like it.
Is developing into a smart middle-distance stayer, backing up his Sandown win with an excellent second in strongly-contested Melrose Handicap at York (13.8f) 2 weeks ago. Major player.
Upwardly-mobile type showed a quality attitude to edge out Subjectivist (Group 3 winner since) over C&D in July. Disappointing in Melrose since but well worth a chance to bounce back in a tongue tie.
Improved further to get off the mark at the third attempt in 5-runner novice at Chester (12.3f) 22 days ago, readily. That was an uncompetitive affair but she should go on improving now handicapping.
No shame at all in losing out to the progressive Revolver at Sandown (14f) last month, but is 3 lb out of the weights in a stronger contest now.
Forecasts
Arthurian Fable (2/1), Favorite Moon (9/4), Al Dabaran (9/2), Midrarr (5/1), Dancing Harry (10/1)
ARTHURIAN FABLE is a stayer firmly on the up and shades the vote following his excellent second in the Melrose Handicap at York. Favorite Moon ran poorly in that race, but he beat a subsequent Group 3 winner over C&D on his penultimate start so is well worth the chance to bounce back fitted with a tongue tie.
- ARTHURIAN FABLE (IRE)
- FAVORITE MOON (GER)
- AL DABARAN
