Southwell Racecourse Supports The Mansfield Chad Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race) (Div 2)

Off time: 19:00 | Winning time: 3m 49.15s

Aleatoric²³

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: Mr Eddie Edge⁽⁷⁾| T: Martin Smith| OR: 95

66/1

Modest winner on Flat but pretty disappointing in this sphere and down the field back on the level at Lingfield recently. Others preferred.

Form: P0P-30

Edward Blue^t¹⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: P J Brennan| T: Noel Williams

66/1

Modest form in two bumpers and only fifth over C&D on hurdling debut 10 days ago. Probably more one for handicaps.

Form: 6-75

Ladykiller¹⁹⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe

6/4

Smart for Andreas Wohler on Flat (stays 15f), winner of Group 3 event in 2019 and listed race in January, below form last time. Notable hurdling newcomer.

Form:

Leroy Leroy¹⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: R T Dunne| T: J R Boyle| OR: 108

7/4

Useful Flat performer who has finished an encouraging second on both starts over hurdles, coming clear of the remainder when denied by El Borracho over C&D 10 days ago. Could go one better now.

Form: 22

Rasaasy³⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: Nick Scholfield| T: A Carson

20/1

Fair Flat winner who was only sixth at Catterick a month ago. Likely to need this first experience of hurdling.

Form:

Staithes¹⁷⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: N de Boinville| T: N J Henderson

10/1

Point winner who finished last in a bumper at Stratford despite being sent off at 10/3. That clearly wasn't his running, so could prove a different proposition no hurdling after 178 days off.

Form: 1/0-

Pink Sheets²⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 10-5| J: J M Quinlan| T: M Quinn| D

4/1

Bumper winner for Mick Channon who produced her best effort for this stable when third in a C&D novice 24 days ago. She's vulnerable to more talented rivals, though.

Form: 2/1056-3

Non-Runners

Divine Gift¹⁰

Weight: 10-12| Age: 4

T: I Jardine J: Non Runner

Finnick Glory⁴³⁵

Weight: 10-5| Age: 6

T: O Murphy J: Non Runner

Forecasts

Ladykiller (6/4), Leroy Leroy (7/4), Pink Sheets (4/1), Staithes (10/1), Divine Gift (12/1), Finnick Glory (14/1), Rasaasy (20/1), Aleatoric (66/1), Edward Blue (66/1)

LEROY LEROY has made a positive start to his hurdling career and might not need to improve on his recent C&D second to get off the mark at the third time of asking in this discipline. Divine Gift shaped well in third that day, so he could get a bit closer to the selection, while hurdling-newcomers Ladykiller and Staithes also warrant a mention.
