Won 7f novice at Newcastle in 2019 but has been well held all 3 starts this year, including in first-time cheekpieces latest. Blinkers now the choice of headgear.
Won over C&D from this mark last season but is one to treat with caution due to his tardiness at the stalls.
Got back on track refitted with a tongue strap when third at Chelmsford in July but well below his best in similar events last 2 starts.
Showed improved form to get off the mark on handicap debut at Lingfield in June. Ran poorly at Bath next time but not disgraced back at that venue since, needing a stronger gallop.
Showed clear promise in a pair of all-weather novices earlier this year and is a potential improver now venturing into handicaps.
Fair maiden who returned to his best when third of 12 over C&D 13 days ago, every chance 2f out. Likely to be thereabouts again with a repeat.
Shaped well from a poor position at Windsor last time and is capable of better now handicapping. Interesting.
Returned to winning ways from a basement mark at Bath in July and has run well in defeat since, including on tapeta debut at Wolverhampton last time. Can remain competitive.
Returned to form back down in trip when third of 14 in handicap (11/1) at Yarmouth (8f, good to soft) 9 days ago, though didn't look willing under pressure. Blinkers on for the 1st time.
Forecasts
Wightman (4/1), Ocho Grande (9/2), Dartington (5/1), Blackcurantspangle (6/1), Win Win Power (15/2), Air Of York (8/1), Biotic (12/1), Muraahin (12/1), Havana Rocket (25/1)
BLACKCURANTSPANGLE shaped encouragingly from a poor position at Windsor last time, suggesting he has plenty more to offer, so he's taken to find the improvement required on the switch to handicaps. Wightman ran well over C&D 13 days ago and shouldn't be too far away again with a repeat, with Win Win Power another interesting handicap debutant.
