Enhance record fresh with a dominant all-the-way win at Stratford 9 days ago. That race fell apart but no surprise to see him out under a penalty given 56-length winning margin.

Won first two starts over hurdles for this stable but his form dipped at end of last season and he's back over timber following an inauspicious chase debut last week.

Lightly raced in recent times and seemed to totally lose confidence over fences for Charlie Longston. Has a lot to prove.

Has made a really good start to life with Tom Lacey, winning handicaps over fences and hurdles in July. Up 10 lb but he's clearly in top form.

Fairly useful winner a best on Flat/over hurdles but a trio of efforts this summer hardly brimming with promise.

Perth maiden winner last summer and struck again in eventful 23f Exeter handicap in November. Held back by jumping on recent chase debut and retains potential as a hurdler.

Very lightly raced nowadays and not easiest to assess, well-held seventh after wind op in handicap chase at Southwell last month then let down by his jumping at Uttoxeter.

Showed fair form when second to Shishkin on first of his 2 starts in bumpers and left previous hurdling exploits behind when runner-up on handicap debut in February. Not in same form at Newbury.

Forecasts

Transpennine Star (2/1), Heavey (3/1), Black Anthem (13/2), Prabeni (15/2), Juge Et Parti (9/1), Kilbrew Boy (12/1), Certainly Red (18/1), Aeglos (25/1), Leith Hill Lad (80/1)

Verdict

HEAVEY's chase debut didn't go plan, but he retains potential as a hurdler and is preferred to Transpennine Star, who is understandably turned out under a penalty having hammered the opposition on last week's reappearance.

  1. HEAVEY
  2. TRANSPENNINE STAR
  3. BLACK ANTHEM (IRE)
