Handicap hurdle winner at Uttoxeter last summer and went close there back from a break in December. Effort on return/chase debut at Southwell was low-key but that experience won't be wasted on him.
Fair winning chaser in France but hard to get excited by what he's shown for current yard, dropping away quickly and eventually pulled up both starts this year.
Landed a gamble at Southwell last year and shaped pretty well back from a break there (15.8f) 3 weeks ago. Going back up in trip looks a good move and he's high on the shortlist.
Remains a maiden after 31 runs (14 over fences) but can usually be relied upon to run his race, as he did when third off this mark at Southwell (20.4f) last time. Solid each-way claims.
Placed on 5 of his half-a-dozen starts in handicap chases, runner-up in a first-time visor (retained here) when last seen at Huntingdon (19.9f) in March. Still, he remains vulnerable for win purposes.
Hurdles winner at Plumpton last spring and runner-up over fences there in October. However, well held both runs since (back over hurdles last time) and needs to bounce back with cheekpieces refitted.

The handicapper has been rather magnanimous where JOLY MAKER is concerned, dropping the 6-y-o another 2 lb following what was an encouraging effort back from a break at Southwell. He is now 3 lb lower than for his breakthrough success there last October and this step back up in trip should be in his favour. Armattiekan is also on a potentially handy mark and is next best ahead of Scartare.
