Lightly-raced maiden. 4/1, good third of 12 in handicap at Catterick (7f, good to soft) 7 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Obvious claims in a race lacking strength in depth.
Speightstown filly. Dam, winner up to 8.3f (2-y-o 7f winner), half-sister to high-class performer Tante Rose. Lots to like on paper and confidence behind her in the betting would look significant.
25/1, sixth of 11 in minor event at Redcar (6f, good to firm) on debut 58 days ago. Sweet Joanna appears to be the stable first-string.
Mazameer filly. Dam unraced. Yard rarely strikes with newcomers, so probably best watched this time.
Modest filly. Last of 8 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 18/1) 35 days ago. Already looks pretty exposed and others make more appeal.
Iffraaj filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including smart winner up to 1½m Sky Defender and useful winner up to 6f Afandem. Dam 2-y-o 6f winner. Yard can ready a newcomer and market check a must.
250/1, tenth of 11 in minor event at Haydock (7f, good to firm) on debut 16 days ago. Likely to struggle once more.
Mayson filly. Dam, 2-y-o 5f winner, half-sister to smart 2-y-o 6f winner La Rioja. Worth a second look in the betting, for all that it's disconcerting that she's hooded for this debut.
Twice-raced maiden. Sixth of 12 in maiden at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 6/1) 29 days ago, not knocked about. Each-way shout.

Forecasts
Soaring Star (1/1), Amniarix (9/4), Sweet Joanna (11/2), Gumra (10/1), St Anne's (18/1), Mazastep (20/1), Butterfly Lounge (28/1), Grandads Best Girl (50/1), Clarity Bay (80/1), Heer Me (200/1)
This could be destined for one of the newcomers, with AMNIARIX and Gumra the most likely-looking among them. It will be interesting to see what the market has to say but, as things stand, preference is for Ed Walker's filly, who is particularly appealing on paper. Soaring Star is just about the pick of those with experience ahead of Sweet Joanna.
