Fairly useful chaser who returned at the top of his game when second over C&D last month. Definite claims if able to back that up.

Fairly useful 23f winner over hurdles and matched that form at the second attempt over fences when third in a handicap at Uttoxeter 15 days ago. May do better still back up in trip.

Dual winner of handicap hurdles last spring, including at this track, and was far from disgraced at Perth on reappearance. Every bit as good over fences, so he's a player from this sort of mark.

Without a win since early 2018 and, while he returned to form when second at Musselburgh in February, there's a chance he'll need this first run since.

Fair winning chaser who was an encouraging third at Uttoxeter on reappearance before an underwhelming effort at Southwell. Could bounce back following more of a break.

Lightly raced as a chaser and returned from 5 months off with an excellent second over C&D 16 days ago, rallying having conceded first run. Should be thereabouts again.

Winning pointer who opened chasing account fitted at Worcester in September. Good placed efforts the last twice, so expected to be on the premises once more.

Forecasts

Trumps Benefit (5/2), Dee Star (10/3), Henrietta Bell (4/1), Elmono (7/1), Cairnshill (7/1), Captain Mowbray (8/1), Shanroe Street (12/1), Still Believing (18/1)

Verdict

CAPTAIN MOWBRAY is well treated on old form and shaped as if retaining all of his ability when third in a handicap over C&D last month, so he gets the nod ahead of Trumps Benefit and Dee Star, who both arrive at the top of their game.

  1. CAPTAIN MOWBRAY
  2. TRUMPS BENEFIT (IRE)
  3. DEE STAR (IRE)
