Much improved this season, finishing runner-up in the Lingfield Derby Trial and Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot, Stamina looks his strong suit so this drop back in trip is a worry at this level.
Fetched a huge sum as a yearling and from a superb family. Made a belated debut at Newbury in July but ran out an impressive winner and then landed the odds under a penalty. Exciting prospect.
Smart form when defying top weight in a Royal Ascot handicap on his return. Pulled too hard in the Derby but right back on track when splitting Mogul and Subjectivist in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood.
Sizeable step forward when fifth in the 2000 Guineas on return. However, failed to convince with his stamina over 1¼m in the Hampton Court at Royal Ascot and the Dante Stakes so that is a major worry.
Disappointed behind Pyledriver in the King Edward VII Stakes on return but better signs when sixth in the Derby and stepped up when beating 2 of these in a strong renewal of the Gordon Stakes.
Very much caught the eye when third on his debut at Haydock and looked a very bright middle-distance prospect when winning a hot novice event at this track last month. Shouldn't be underestimated,
Had a busy campaign at 2 yrs but continues to go from strength to strength, placed in a couple of handicaps before making all in a listed event at Hamilton. Lost little in defeat in Gordon Stakes.
Forecasts
Mogul (85/40), Darain (7/2), Roberto Escobarr (11/2), Berkshire Rocco (7/1), Pyledriver (10/1), Highland Chief (11/1), Subjectivist (12/1), Juan Elcano (14/1)
The Gordon Stakes at Goodwood is a key piece of form, with the well-touted MOGUL taken to confirm the placings with Highland Chief and Subjectivist. Highly-promising novice winners Darain and Roberto Escobarr add serious intrigue to the race and they may emerge as the chief threats to the O'Brien runner this time.
- MOGUL
- DARAIN
- ROBERTO ESCOBARR (IRE)
