Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Novices' Handicap Hurdle (Div 2)

Off time: 16:45 | Winning time: 5m 1.35s

Chapati³¹⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Theo Gillard⁽⁷⁾| T: J Coulson| OR: 105

28/1

Not disgraced in maiden/novice hurdles at Bangor last August but soundly beaten back in a handicap over C&D final start. Drops into a 0-105 on return but looks best watched.

Form: 5/77338-

Queen Adelaide^t²⁷²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-10| J: Fergus Gillard⁽⁷⁾| T: D Pipe| OR: 103

10/3

Flat winner for John Ryan who took a fairly sizeable step forward on just her third start for David Pipe when runner-up at Wincanton in November, clear of rest. One to consider on return.

Form: 762P/42-

Say Nothing^t1²⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 11-5| J: Kielan Woods| T: A M Hales| OR: 100

5/2

Half-sister to useful hurdler Nelson River and is a fair maiden on the Flat (stays 2m). Placed both starts in novice hurdles and interesting now making quick switch to handicaps in a tongue strap.

Form: 33

Karamoko⁵⁸⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-4| J: B S Hughes| T: N G Richards| OR: 97

9/2

Lightly-raced sort who again ran well without finding any further improvement when third at Ayr 19 months ago. Not seen since but handicapper has dropped him 4 lb, so he's a potential player.

Form: 673433/

Bullsempire²⁹⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-3| J: J McGrath| T: C Hobson| OR: 96

28/1

Point winner but pulled up on last 2 starts in that sphere and only minor promise in 2 bumpers/novice hurdles to date, so improvement needed on this switch to handicaps after 9 months off.

Form: P64620-

Shareef Star^t1³¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-1| J: James Bowen| T: P & M Bowen| OR: 94

8/1

Fair 10f AW winner on Flat for Sir Michael Stoute. Well in novice hurdles but may prove a different proposition now switching to handicaps in a tongue tie.

Form: 0-45

Jetstream^t²⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 10-8| J: Max Kendrick⁽³⁾| T: D J Jeffreys| OR: 87

11/2

Fair Flat performer who shaped as if still in good form when third of 7 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (24.3f, good to firm) 20 days ago, just not getting home. Back down in trip.

Form: 8/730-33

Rathbride Prince^t⁴²

Age: 5| Weight: 10-0| J: R Patrick⁽³⁾| T: M Sheppard| OR: 77

14/1

Maiden on Flat and over hurdles for Padraig Roche and little impression in 6 handicap outings for new yard.

Form: 95090-7

First Man^v1¹⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 10-0| J: P J Brennan| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero| OR: 69

28/1

Little worthwhile form over hurdles/fences. Makes handicap hurdle debut.

Form: P08-69P

Non-Runners

Lester Kris²⁶⁶

Weight: 11-9| Age: 6

T: K Woollacott J: T J O'Brien

Forecasts

Say Nothing (5/2), Queen Adelaide (10/3), Karamoko (9/2), Jetstream (11/2), Shareef Star (8/1), Rathbride Prince (14/1), Lester Kris (25/1), First Man (28/1), Bullsempire (28/1), Chapati (28/1)

SAY NOTHING has shown clear promise of both her stars over hurdles, and with this longer trip sure to suit now making a quick switch to handicaps, she's taken to come out on top. Shareef Star could prove a different proposition now handicapping, but with his yard still struggling for form, Karamoka may prove the bigger threat having been given a chance by the handicapper on his belated return.
