Record in Irish points reads PFPP, and this son of Sans Frontieres starts out for a yard with a modest 4% strike-rate in bumpers. No appeal.
Dam was a 2¾m hurdle winner, and this son of Black Sam Bellamy was always struggling, and trailed in a long way behind in a Sedgefield bumper in December.
By St Leger winner Lucarno out of a modest sprint maiden. Rare bumper runner for yard, and not enough encouragement in his pedigree to make him of particular interest.
By Vision d'Etat out of a 1m3f winner. Raced too freely when a disappointing 19¼L eighth of 10 to Elios D'Or in a bumper at Musselburgh in January, and should improve as he learns the ropes.
Saint des Saints mare out of a winning hurdler, herself a daughter of owners' top-class hurdler Marello. Yard has a decent strike rate (3-11 in last two years) in bumpers, and this mare ticks plenty of the right boxes.
Ran very well when runner-up on bumper bow at Kelso in May 2019, and has maintained that form in two starts since, albeit without progressing. Holds solid place claims once again.
Improved effort when belying odds of 100/1 with a good 6L second in a Carlisle bumper in October.. Sets the standard on that run, but couldn't build on it next time, and may benefit from more of a test than she'll get here.
Dam was a grand servant to this yard, winning from 5f-1¾m on the Flat and at up to 2½m over hurdles, so this Kayf Tara filly is well worth a market check, despite yard being 0-19 in this sphere in last five years.
Forecasts
Headscarf Lil (5/6), Against All Odds (16/5), Lady Bowes (4/1), Tara Kay (12/1), Diamond State (16/1), Lucarnip (28/1), Ballyvictieres (50/1), Jinkaman (100/1)
Headscarf Lil and Lady Bowes are the form picks, but the former hasn't really progressed since a promising debut, and the latter may need a stiffer test of stamina than this having shown her best form in the mud at Carlisle. With that in mind, the verdict goes to the well-bred debutant AGAINST ALL ODDS, out of a pretty useful hurdles winner, who is herself a daughter of her owners' high-class racemare Marello.

- Lady Bowes
