Gelded newcomer, yard 2-11 with that sort last five years, half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Diamond Fort, dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler Lucia Bay. Plenty of stamina in the pedigree looks one for the longer term.

Only one in the field to have run in point-to-points (form ordinary), ran to a fair level on Market Rasen debut last year. Off eight months before he returned regressing from that debut effort, 6-24 in bumpers here last five years, not written off.

Too free and failed to settle on his bumper debut prior to being off 17 months and reappearing at Uttoxeter in a hood. Needed the run there, ran better than finishing position would suggest, still one of he lesser lights in this.
Well backed on his Wincanton debut in November (5-1) but failed to meet expectations although he did appear to race on the worst part of the track (faded late on). Returns with a tongue-tie on probably though capable of better, worth a market check.
Yard not known for their bumper winners (3-57 last five years), looks one for the longer term having finished last of six on his Bangor bumper debut. 16-1, dropped away quickly from halfway, beaten 133L, can only be watched for now.
Yard have been very quiet of late (1-50 current jumps season), 3-34 with bumper newcomers past five years. £15,000 3yo, first foal, dam lightly raced over hurdles/fences in France, half-sister to fairly useful French hurdler/chaser Mukonzi Has.

Half-brother to two winners on the Flat, including useful 6f winner Belated Breath, showed plenty of promise when just run out of second by Donnie Azoff over C&D (winner won again), should improve, close between the pair again on same terms.

Newcomer, Flat-bred, half-brother to four winners but related to a fair 2m hurdle winner Peacock's Pride, dam unraced. Yard 3-4 with bumper debutantes in last five years (last three have all won), one of those winners over C&D, worth a market check.

Debutant from a yard that are 0-6 with such types last five years and 0-11 in bumpers overall in that same time frame. Cost only 800gns as a yearling, first foal, dam lightly-raced on Flat, can only be of minor interest.

Trainer has a 19% strike-rate with bumper newcomers (18-94) last five years and quite often produces a useful sort in these events. Second foal, dam 1m-11.6f winner, half-sister to 1m winner Galinthias, well worth keeping an eye on in the market.
Yard have had winners on bumper debut (6-40 last five years), generally some market support is needed. First foal, dam, maiden on Flat half-sister to useful 2m hurdle winner Barwell Bridge and fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Memorabilia.

Forecasts

Le Boulevardier (15/8), Beyond The Pale (9/4), Donnie Azoff (5/2), Winton (9/2), Thetracksofmytears (11/1), Talk Of Fame (12/1), Henri Morgan Parry (20/1), Lost On You (20/1), Alkanada (22/1), Gorgeous Grace (50/1), Half Nelson (100/1), Dunover (200/1)

Verdict

On paper not a bad bumper with two of the main players Donnie Azoff and Le Boulevardier having met before when second and third here on their debuts both having shown signs of inexperience in a field of mostly newcomers behind a subsequent winner from the Fergal O’Brien stable. There should be little between the pair again and with the O’Brien yard knowing the strength of that form its interesting they run Beyond The Pale. Newcomer WINTON may be the one of most interest with the James Bethell yard winning with their last three bumper debutants at 16-1, 11-8 and 5-1, two ridden by Brian Hughes. Alan King’s newcomer Tracksofmytears is also worthy of consideration.
  1. Winton
  2. Donnie Azoff
  3. Thetracksofmytears
