Useful staying hurdler; has already had two wind surgeries prior to starting his chasing career. So far he hasn't done as well as expected in this sphere his latest Uttoxeter performance (5-4f) particularly poor (jumped sketchily), jury out for now.
With a 0-53 record over fences and a temperament to match he would need the other tow to falter in a major way to win this. Business as usual last time when beaten 70L in a Cartmel handicap, makes no appeal at all.
Useful hurdler who reeled off a four-timer last season put a full stop on the term by running an excellent second (post a wind op) in a competitive large-field Kempton (21f) handicap hurdle. Physique/style of a chaser, winning debut very possible.

This basically boils down to a match with Sussex Road of minimal interest his only chance of winning lying in the other two protagonists having major mishaps. Minella Warrior has been extremely disappointing over fences having looked to have plenty of potential for this discipline his jumping so far has proved a let down and THE BUTCHER SAID is taken to make a winning debut. Progressive over hurdles last term its interesting that connections switch him to fences with more races over hurdles looking to be within his grasp. He concedes experience but has the look, make and shape of a chaser and can make a winning fencing debut.
