One of two twice-raced sorts that the yard run in this with this one looking to have more ability. Improved on his debut effort at Haydock (7.2f) last time without looking the finished article to finish second (fourth won since), more to come.
Newcomer (yard 11-61 with 2yo debutants this year), 22,000gns yearling, second foal, half-brother to 1m2f winner True Scarlet. Dam winner up to 1m2f (2yo 8.3f winner). Yard have a good record in this race but with more experienced types.

Looks to be the lesser fancied of the two that this yard run having gone backwards from his debut over 6.1f at Windsor last time. Bred to be quite smart he's not as yet living up to expectations and is best watched on this occasion.

Tongue-tie on for debut, 62,000gns yearling, fifth foal, half-brother to 1m-11f winner Neverendinglove, dam, maiden. Yard 1-9 with 2yo newcomers this year, market should provide a good guide to expectations.

Posted a fair effort on his debut at York in a minor event over 7f given it was rather a surprise to see him starting out at that trip given his speedy pedigree. Yard's 2yo's running well, would hardly be a surprise to see him go close here.
Yard's 2yo often improve for their debuts but judged on his first run this one looks for the longer term. Well held on his debut at Sandown (7f) the experience gained here will stand him in good stead further down the line.

Newcomer (yard have a strong contender in State Patrol), €12,000 yearling, closely related to smart winner up to 1m2f Gabrial (2yo 5f winner) and half-brother to 3 winners. Dam 10,5f winner, owner loves winners here but best watched for now.

Verdict

Racing returns to the Roodee for the first time in this disrupted year with the opener a modest 2yo contest that has been dominated by the Johnston (two wins) and Dascombe (three wins) yards in the last five years. Both are represented with COMMONSENSICAL giving the latter stable a good chance of landing win number four having looked to show steady progress so far. Johnston runs a newcomer in Elusive Artist with his previous two winners in this both winning on their third start. Richard Fahey is doubly represented with his State Patrol looking the main danger to the selection based on his York debut although given his pedigree he may be better at shorter.
