Absent since December 2018 when last seen being beaten 3L eighth in 1m2f Dundalk handicap. Since subsequently switched to top connections. Comeback effort in which market will be the best guide.
Sole win came when trained in France. No show when well-fancied in two hurdle starts to date including at Naas (2m) in January. Has a little bit to prove now.
Some promising efforts over hurdles including when placing twice (including over C&D) in the spring of 2019. Can be forgiven for comeback run after long absence and interesting if he can replicate previous form.
Tried in Grade 3 company last year so obviously thought of. Made return with inauspicious fifth over 2m4f at Gowran and steps back into maiden company for this.
Good second in two maiden hurdles during the summer over 2019 but didn't take to fences on comeback effort at Kilbeggan (2m6f) last month. Likely to fare better over the smaller obstacles.
Some smart form in maiden hurdles previously including when placing twice last summer. Unlucky to fall on seasonal return and could go close if that hasn't left a mark.
Struggling maiden on the Flat who didn't suggest that would be changing, including when 11th in Bellewstown handicap (1m5f) last month. Tough ask on hurdles bow.
Only raced twice to date, pulling up at Clonmel in March before tame 28L seventh at Cork (2m) last month. Needs to take significant step up to be competitive in this.
Related to some minor jumps winners but not proving in the same way, including 56L defeat at Tramore (2m) last time out. Limited appeal in this and likely to be handicapping soon.
Huge prices in all hurdles starts to date and running accordingly of late. Latest 136L defeat at Limerick (2m4f) makes very limited appeal on paper.
Fairly well-bred gelding for this level but not showed anything when pulling up in first two starts, including at Thurles (2m) in November 2019. Absent since and makes comeback.
Second reserve. Has started long odds on each of his starts to date and running accordingly, including 42L defeat at Kilbeggan (2m) two days ago. Big ask now.

This race could potentially be the talking point of the day, with MALONE ROAD making his eagerly-anticipated hurdles debut. He was regarded as one of the most exciting prospects to jump racing a couple of seasons back before some setbacks, and if he retains all ability, he should easily take this onto loftier targets. While he fell last time out, which is a little worrying, Patrick Joseph has some likeable form in this sphere in the past, as does the duo of Dedanann and Get A Price, who should improve significantly from their recent comeback efforts from long absences.

- Patrick Joseph
