Up 2lb for a career-best success at Ripon 15 day ago over this trip on good ground. This race is stronger on paper.
Three-time winner in 2019 over 1m2f; hasn't quite happened in two runs back this season but not far off and could find more upped in distance.
Bounced back to form with slender success over C&D 13 days ago; this more challenging with 6lb hike to contend with but in good form.
Third in C&D event won by Jeremiah recently; had some smart form last year and in Dubai in the spring (without winning); has 5L to find with re-opposing rival now and should be competitive.
Mare made a winning return at Windsor in June (only beating two rivals) and since run well in Listed company at Newbury (1m4f, good). Can't be discounted with Georgia Dobie talking 4lb off.
Poor effort on return at Newmarket but left that behind nicely to score over C&D a fortnight ago; scoring with something in hand. Up 8lb for that win however and in better company here.
A while since he has shown his best stuff and recent disappointment behind Jeremiah here leaves him with plenty to ponder.
Dual winner in Ireland last year for Dermot Weld, including at Galway Festival; yet to shine in three runs for new trainer and likely remains high enough in ratings for now.
Winter layoff bookended by Brighton maiden win and Newcastle h'cap debut success on the all-weather; well held all three runs on turf since over 1m4f/1m2f and another that may need some assistance from the assessor.
Romped to a 14L win at Newmarket over this trip on seasonal bow and only beaten a ½L under 9lb ratings-hike since at York in a race where he did plenty early in the contest. Cieren Fallon's claim helps now and leading player.
Gelded at the end of last year and that appears to have worked, with 3-3 record on the all-weather in 2020; form of Kempton success since boosted and looks to have every chance if taking form back to the turf.
Near miss on debut for this trainer on the all-weather at Kempton early last month but since finished well adrift of Omnivega back there since and faces tough task on that evidence.
Forecasts
Jeremiah (10/3), Look Closely (7/2), Caradoc (4/1), Omnivega (6/1), Fox Vardy (7/1), Spanish Archer (12/1), Medal Winner (14/1), Hyanna (22/1), Koeman (22/1), Protected Guest (40/1), Hasanabad (80/1), Kyllachy Gala (100/1)
Lots of chances but it might be worth siding with FOX VARDY, who followed up a Newmarket romp with a pleasing run since at York when not beaten far into third having done plenty work early on. His mark remains the same but Cieren Fallon can take 3lb off today. Omnivega is 3-3 from the all-weather in 2020 and a massive threat if taking that form to the turf, while Caradoc may offer more upped in distance.
