Useful chaser on his day and now back on a winning mark after finding things a bit tough last winter. Has gone well fresh before so absence not necessarily an issue, but yet to conclusively prove he wants this far and is prone to the odd error.
C&D winner on latest start (after an early scare, jumped better) and only 4lb higher here. Tongue strap worn then is kept on today and as an improving chaser, he has to take high rank here.
Can jump well on his day, as he did when scoring at Warwick last October (5lb higher today) but that wasn't the case when well held at Uttoxeter on reappearance last month. Should strip fitter for that and if avoiding errors, holds a chance.
Capable of scoring off this mark but overall strike rate isn't great, yard still struggling to get going to any noticeable extent and he was a well held last of nine on reappearance here last month. Others readily make more appeal.
Now back on his last winning mark and has his conditions today, so has his plus points, and should strip fitter for an outing over hurdles at Southwell last month. Not the most consistent around but has chances if on a going day.
Thrown in on best form but ages since he showed any spark and continued a series of pulled-up efforts at Southwell last month. Hard to fancy, especially with the yard's poor form showing no signs of abating.
Forecasts
Soldier Of Love (1/1), For Good Measure (4/1), Marble Moon (4/1), Bally Longford (7/1), Lord Bryan (16/1), Viens Chercher (25/1)
SOLDIER OF LOVE faces no more difficult a task than he did when successful last time and he can continue his good run in a race that might not take a lot of winning. Marble Moon has a win at the track to his name and might prove the danger now after a recent pipe-opener. For Good Measure might be best of the rest.
