Standout effort was when second of 13 at Southwell last season and not seen since struggling in heavy ground at Windsor in October. Clear chance on that best run but does have to prove his fitness after 10 months off.

In the frame plenty of times with his neck second over C&D in June probably the pick of them but that was a weak contest and a bit more required to get off the mark here.

Has shown a modicum of ability in pair of 6f maidens and both times has looked as though the drop down to the minimum trip should help so can't be ruled out.

His close second to It's A Given over 6f at Kempton in June is the best piece of form on offer here. Didn't get home over 7f last time and providing the drop down to the minimum trip is suitable has big form chance.

Has shown early speed on both starts without getting home. Does need to improve but has some ability so no surprise should he leave that form behind.

25/1 for recent belated Bath debut but was slowly away and tailed off throughout when 24L last of four. Needs to have learned plenty in a short space of time.

62,000 gns yearling. First foal of dam who was a dual winning sprinter. Has clearly had issues to be only making debut now but connections have certainly found a weak enough race should she have any ability.

Forecasts

Shoot The Moon (5/2), Passional (10/3), Good Earth (10/3), Summit Fever (9/2), Brenner Pass (7/1), Sea Trout (33/1), Cherish (125/1)

Verdict

As to be expected for this time of the year, this is a weak sprint maiden and SHOOT THE MOON who has 6lb in hand over his rivals who have handicap marks, won't have many better opportunities to get off the mark. Passional should certainly figure on this belated debut and looks the chief threat with the market guiding as to whet is expected. Summit Fever may prove best of the rest.
  1. Shoot The Moon
  2. Passional
  3. Summit Fever
