Nine-time winner but over two years since last success. Form both over hurdles and on the level this winter suggested he may be on the wane and after a break others make greater appeal.

Improved in each of his three runs this summer with a fourth over this trip at Sandown latest. Eased a grade to class 6 now as he gets another 1lb back from the handicapper so looks a solid each-way proposition.

Lightly raced four-year-old certainly improving now with 1m4f third at Newmarket followed by 2m Lingfield second latest. This trip may be optimal and looks sure to make a bold bid.

Won twice over this distance at Redcar to end last season and Newmarket third (1m4f) on return respectable. Perhaps good to soft ground cause for latest disappointment so bounce back distinctly possible.

Fair form without really threatening this year on the AW but flopped back on turf at Sandown latest. Will need a huge step up to be involved here.

After 1m Southwell win last summer he finished second five times over a variety of trips and surfaces before finally ending that run in unwanted manner when fourth latest. Place claims again here.

Yet to place in five starts although certainly not without ability from evidence so far. Will need a career best here but longer trip and first-time cheekpieces offer hope in that regard.

Forecasts

Tamaris (11/8), Sefton Warrior (9/4), Walk It Talk It (5/2), Sophar Sogood (10/3), The Fiddler (11/2), War Brigade (8/1), Glutnforpunishment (10/1), Great Hall (33/1), Mr Fox (66/1)

Verdict

After absolutely bolting up at Wolverhampton on handicap debut TAMARIS will be very difficult to beat under a 6lb penalty presuming he is in the same form on turf. Improving filly Walk It Talk It has placed over 1m4f and 2m the last twice so logically this trip ought to suit well marking her out as the biggest danger. War Brigade also enters the equation now down in grade.
  1. Tamaris
  2. Walk It Talk It
  3. War Brigade
