Five-time winner on turf, including valuable Newmarket handicap (5f) on seasonal return. Fared well off 5lb higher mark at York (5f) last time and sets the standard off top weight.
Continuing his fine run of form this season after return win at Newmarket (5f). Not beaten that far when sixth in competitive York sprint (5f) last time and gets weight pull with re-opposing rival. Considered.
Beaten favourite on last three starts, but shaped far more encouragingly when 2L fifth against opposing rivals at York (5f) last time. Eased 1lb and yard have hit a strong run of form.
C&D winner back in June and ran fine in two starts since. Latest 1L fourth in Ascot handicap (5f) means he throws his hat into thing if finding best C&D form too.
Easy 8L winner on handicap debut over 6f here last term, but not in the same form since. Down the field in competitive 6f York sprint last time and minimum trip not entirely set to suit.
Failed to win since April 2019 and not returned from absence in best form, including when ninth at York (5f) last time out. Other rivals have more pressing claims.

A lot of well-handicapped rivals return to face each other in this tricky sprint handicap, and preference is for ARICEBO to continue his trainer's current strong form. The five-year-old fared best of the re-opposing rivals at York last time, but gets respite in the weights and looks to have the biggest advantage, which has him primed. Jabbarockie and Makanah are those rivals and will be stiff opposition, but the handicapper isn't giving them both much respite, while the duo of Mountain Peak and Aplomb were fourth in respective handicaps at Ascot last time, the latter's was a notable fiercely-contested race, which makes him the main danger.
