Dual course winner always tends to run well at this track. Took his form to a new level when runner-up to the improving Royal Crusade at Deauville (6f; good). Remains unexposed over this trip too. Genuine contender.
Gone off the boil for one reason or another the last twice after previously looking progressive. Doesn't come out particularly well at these weights either so it is difficult to be overly enthusiastic about his chances.
Back to form when third in a competitive handicap at York (5f; good). Returns to 6f but this is a better race so he will need to improve and he isn't getting any younger at the age of nine. Consistent overall record gives him place claims.
This is his first start since he finished sixth in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot (6f; good to soft) last year. First time tongue-tie goes on and he has had a wind operation. Highest rated in the race but Crowley jumps ship.
Best form would give him a chance but he does need to bounce back in first-time blinkers after he finished sixth in the Criterion Stakes at Newmarket (7f; good to firm) recently. May be notable that Crowley opts to ride him over Jash though.
Could have ran better despite the stiff task when only managing to beat one home in a competitive 17-runner contest at Newmarket (6f; soft) last time. However, that was the first time he had encountered soft ground so may have had excuses.

Yafta (2/1), Jash (9/4), Glen Shiel (3/1), Danzeno (8/1), Graphite (8/1), Harry's Bar (12/1), Rayong (14/1), Volatile Analyst (25/1)
An intriguing contest which probably revolves around Jash who makes his eagerly awaited return to action having not been seen since finishing sixth in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last year. With the application of a tongue tie and wind operation he has evidently had his problems over the last few months, but could blow these away if anywhere near his best. He is likely to be popular among punters so we'll go with the less obvious choice of GLEN SHIEL who has no questions to answer, loves it at Gosforth Park (2-4) and showed improved form when placed in France at Group level when last seen. The lightly raced Volatile Analyst could run into a place on his AW debut.
