Weighed In

Off time: 13:26  |   Winning time: 1m 0.11s

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-7  |  J: P Mulrennan |  T: D H Brown|  OR: 75|  D

One of the more consistent runners in the line-up. Holds a few of these comfortably on the form of his third at York (5f; good) last time out. Top-weight to defy but improvement seemingly hasn't tailed off just yet.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-6  |  J: T Hamilton |  T: R A Fahey|  OR: 74

Backwards step when last seen at Ripon (6f; good). In decent form prior to that though, and the form of his second to Sunset Breeze at this track on his seasonal debut gives him definite claims.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: D Tudhope |  T: D O'Meara|  OR: 73|  D

First-time hood applied and it will need to have a major revival effect after she failed to beat a single rival home at York (5f; good). Produced largely quiet performances since breaking her duck at Ripon last year. Look elsewhere.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: Lewis Edmunds |  T: J L Eyre|  OR: 73|  D

Should appreciate the ease in grade. Definite player on the form of his third at Redcar (5f; good) in June, and he is 2lb below his last winning mark. Needs to bounce back but a player if market spoke in favour of him.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-4  |  J: T Eaves |  T: K A Ryan|  OR: 72|  BF

Drops back to the minimum trip for the first time since debut effort in May last year. Unable to build upon solid seasonal return to action when second to the impressive Oakenshield over 6f at this track.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2  |  J: G Lee |  T: B Smart|  OR: 70|  CD

Consistent filly has been dropped 1lb for a rare below-par effort when only sixth at Catterick (5f; good) last time out. Return to this C&D is a positive, and no surprise to see her be competitive despite looking vulnerable for win purposes.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2  |  J: Danny Redmond |  T: P D Niven|  OR: 70|  D

Hard to fancy at the moment. Ran as could have been expected when sent off at 100-1 and finishing down the field at Ripon (6f; good) last month. Dropped another 5lb but showing no signs on capitalising on reduced mark.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-13  |  J: B A Curtis |  T: Miss Gay Kelleway|  OR: 67|  D

Back to form when third at Sandown (5f; good to firm) last week. That was just his third start in a handicap so there could be more to come off a 3lb lower mark and sole career victory came on AW.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-7  |  J: S A Gray |  T: K Dalgleish|  OR: 61|  CD

Sole career success came over C&D. Far from disgraced in defeat the last twice. Had excuses when hanging badly left last time out (lost two shoes). First time cheekpieces may bring about some improvement so not totally discounted.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-3  |  J: Cam Hardie |  T: Ollie Pears|  OR: 57

Drop back to the minimum trip looked to work when he posted a more encouraging effort to place for the first time at Beverley (5f; good to firm). Form of that contest working out well with the runner-up going in since.

My Kinda Day (7/2), Capla Spirit (7/2), Astrozone (5/1), Mews House (11/2), Barbarella (10/1), Infinite Grace (12/1), Youneverletmedown (14/1), Birkenhead (16/1), Pivotal Art (22/1), Hurstwood (50/1)

In first-time cheekpieces Barbarella may be able to recapture the form she showed when runner-up over 6f at this track on her seasonal return to action and so is not discounted. The unexposed Pivotal Art is also considered given he showed improved form when dropped back to this trip to finish third at Beverley & the form has recently been boosted by the second. After a below-par effort when last seen, Astrozone could be worth chancing given she is usually a more consistent sort. Therefore, the safest option looks to be MEWS HOUSE who has steadily progressed since entering handicaps & posted another respectable effort when third in a slightly better race last time.
