Country Carnival²⁰

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: James Doyle| T: D O'Meara| OR: 85| D

9/2

Improved from debut to win a novice event at Beverley in good style and far from disgraced when stepped up in class at York earlier this month. May do better, particularly if the ground continues to dry out.

Form: 413

Furlong Factor¹³

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: B A Curtis| T: B R Millman| OR: 86| D

17/2

Off the mark at the third attempt when winning a novice at Chepstow and only beaten 1l (Country Carnival third) in Listed class at York. A bit more exposed than some but shouldn't be far away if she finds her York form.

Form: 33125

Lady Amalthea

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: David Egan| T: Jane Chapple-Hyam

50/1

Prince Of Lir filly, cost 15,000 gns as a Breeze-up purchase. Dam a half-sister to Group placed sprinter as a 2yo. Tough ask on debut.

Miss Jingles^t⁸

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: W Buick| T: C Appleby| OR: 75| D

7/2

Improved from debut to win a Sandown maiden when dropped in trip. In good hands but others have achieved a fair amount more.

Form: 61

(3)

Pelekai²⁰

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: J Fanning| T: C & M Johnston| OR: 81| D

9/1

Winner on debut but hasn't managed to land a blow at Pattern level twice since, 3½l behind a couple of these last time at York. Plenty on to reverse that form.

Form: 104

Spright¹⁰

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: C Lee| T: K R Burke| OR: 85

11/10

Looked like a nice prospect when 50/1 runner-up on debut and justified favouritism when bolting up in a York maiden last month. Would appear to have the speed for this drop back in trip and can go well again.

Form: 21

Forecasts

Spright (11/10), Miss Jingles (7/2), Country Carnival (9/2), Furlong Factor (17/2), Pelekai (9/1), Lady Amalthea (50/1)

There was plenty to like about SPRIGHT's debut and she took a big step forward when bolting up at York last time. She gives the impression she could be just as effect over the minimum trip and makes most appeal. There's not much to split Country Carnival and Furlong Factor on their Listed form from York with the former narrowly preferred with a less exposed profile.
