Some useful Flat form to his name at up to 1m4f, hurdles exploits have been far more modest. Hardly went with much enthusiasm last time at Uttoxeter despite attracting support, never landing a blow (handicap debut), headgear now tried to pep him up.

Showed a marked improvement to make a winning debut for this yard fitted with a hood/tongue-tie combination (make hard work of things). Not found that same level since, showed very little on chase debut last time, quickly back over hurdles.

Regressed very quickly from successful hurdles/chase exploits with Dan Skelton with this yard, hardly beaten a rival in that time. Pulled up last time after losing his action, plenty to prove even at this lowly level, best watched.

Wouldn't be the first from this yard to improve for a switch to handicaps having hinted at having more ability than she's shown in novice events. Likely to be seen in a much better light in this sphere (mark fair), certainly one to note in the market

Looked to be getting the hang of hurdling when second here last September doing best of those that were held up. Not seen subsequently, ran poorly on return at Southwell over 2m, needs to return to previous form to be of interest here.

Improved back from a break in a Southwell 2m handicap hurdle last time travelling well, just outbattled in a tight finish (first experience of that incident). Nudged up 3lb, still features on a lowly mark (could well be ahead of it), cheekpieces on.

Would have needed the run last time at Southwell on the back of a break/wind op but ultimately didn't show much for the future. Struggling for form prior to his absence, best form has come at distances short of 2m4f, others appeal more.

Southwell 2m4f win in June 2019 stands out like a beacon in his form having not come close in five subsequent starts the most recent on stable debut. Hard to think that he's going to reproduce that success now having been easily beaten last time.

Glimmers of hope that he might be able to produce something more at a lowly level since being switched to handicaps. Ought to be sharper for his Newton Abbot return having been dropped a further 3lb to a career-low mark, not written off.

Largely a consistent sort getting back to winning ways at Catterick in February over 2m3f off a 9lb lower mark. Not seen again there's a chance she may need this but as a winner in this lowly company she can't be ignored and merits some respect.

Bumper form was modest (0-4) with no progress forthcoming in her hurdling career and if anything she's gone backwards. Done very little to even warrant a mark as high as this, out of sorts when last seen little is expected here on return.

Forecasts

Notwhatiam (11/4), It Can Be Done (3/1), Kendelu (11/2), Talkingpicturestv (6/1), Redemptorist (8/1), Sixties Star (16/1), See Forever (16/1), Raise Your Shades (18/1), Emily Webb (20/1), Sambella (33/1), Kymata (66/1)

Verdict

Rather like the first division there looks to be an obvious market leader in this in the shape of It Can Be Done who produced a decent performance last time on his second handicap start getting into a protracted battle for the first time. He’s sure to produce a sound effort again but SAMBELLA a more speculative selection makes plenty of appeal given her background on handicap debut especially if there is market support. Talkingpicturestv enters the picture is she’s ready after a break although the 9lb rise for her Catterick win looks rather harsh. Kendelu features on a handy mark and along with Redemptorist in a new headgear combination add some depth to the contest.
  1. Sambella
  2. It Can Be Done
  3. Kendelu
