Useful at his peak/when on song, caused a 33-1 surprise post wind surgery to claim a first hurdles victory for over three years at Sedgefield (2m4f), allowed run of race. Below-par in a similar scenario last time, well handicapped back over fences.
Landed back-to-back Musselburgh handicap chases in early 2019, struggled for the most part rest of that year, higher marks seemingly finding him out. Well held when last seen, remains above his last winning mark, absence to deal with, unconvincing.
Produced a career-best to win over C&D (May 2018) off this same mark, rather lacklustre afterwards off higher marks (has jumped poorly). Reappears off a fair absence, usually held up, market may be the best guide to current expectations.
Veteran chaser, whilst well handicapped hasn't won for over two years, had looked to be losing his way. Proved there was some ability still there when last seen at Musselburgh, lengthy absence, 3-7 off 150 plus day breaks when younger.
First run for this yard having got his act together over fences for David Bridgewater last year completing a small-field handicap chase hat-trick at Fontwell in September. Up 5lb, should still be competitive if ready off the back of a lengthy break.
4-14 over fences for Jeremy Scott, yet to win for this yard with the majority of his runs below the standard set for his previous handler. Easily brushed aside on recent return at Market Rasen (3m), should at least come on for that run.
Veteran who in his heyday was always to be feared around this venue (four-time course winner). 14lb below last winning shows how is regressing these days with this trip likely to stretch his stamina, unlikely to add to his sound course record.
Off the course for over two years having been a fair handicap chaser on his day prior to the break. Not in much form when last seen but has been given a chance by the handicapper (8lb below last winning mark), market looks best guide to prospects.

Far from a classic this handicap chase isn’t one to be getting over involved with in a financial sense, question marks abounding over the runners. At least DOWNLOADTHEAPP comes here on debut for his new stable with some solid form behind him having landed a hat-trick just under a year ago, he still looks well handicapped if he’s ready. Most of his rivals are dealing with an absence and at seven he’s still got some potential. Day Of Roses is the only runner with a recent outing and that may help in fitness terms while Federici will find this easier than some of his more recent chase exploits. C&D winner Captain Mowbray should be monitored in the market for any positivity around his chance.
