Fancied to go well at Kilbeggan last month only to be brought down at the third in a 2m4f handicap chase; found 3m too far in confidence boosting recent run over hurdles; arguably still too high in the weight but this C&D winner should run well.
Put some in consistent chase form behind him when finishing runner-up at Roscommon earlier this month on the back of some uninspiring runs over hurdles and on the Flat; tends to need a lot of luck in running but fair chance now confidence is up.
Kept busy last summer and winter but only had a maiden hurdle sucess to show for it; hard to assess over fences given he has only raced once at Sligo last September; hard to easily dismiss, however.
Winner over fences of a Fairyhouse handicap over this trip in October; sent back over hurdles after falling in chase at Thurles later that month; dismal return to fences last time at Roscommon and possibly in need of relief from the handicapper.
Veteran who was turning back time in a number of rock solid displays between August and October last year over hurdles and the larger obstacles; won well on reappearance run over hurdles at Kilbeggan recently; better hurdler but looks well treated.
Long-standing maiden over fences who has hit the frame on just two occasions from 21 starts over the larger obstacles; looks up against it here on all known form.
15-race National Hunt maiden; application of a hood may have contributed to an improved performance last time at Tipperary and this drop back in trip will help; definite chance in first-time tongue-tie.

Forecasts
Bective Cave (8/11), Alice Johnston (9/2), Arch Melody (6/1), Bridge Native (7/1), Roachdale House (9/1), Rebel Turn (20/1), Le Hachette (25/1), Captain Cobajay (50/1)
ALICE JOHNSTON would have finished a lot closer last time at Tipperary had she not made a mistake at the final flight. It is possible that trip (2m4f) stretched her stamina and this step back should certainly be in her favour and it is encouraging she is quickly turned out. The veteran Bective Cave is a much better hurdler but he has ability over fences and is obviously much better treated. He should be full of confidence after winning recently over hurdles. Roachdale House put in one his best performances over fences last time at Roscommon and if building on that he should go well.
- Alice Johnston
- Bective Cave
- Roachdale House
