Useful handicapper on his day, latest effort after ten months off can be ignored (slow away, raced wrong side) In Royal Hunt Cup. Should stay this trip (one previous try, last of four); looks to have been hard train, 1lb above last winning mark.
Course winner (1m4f) last year following up a Newbury success over 2f less, both in minor events. Both handicap efforts (debut in first-time cheekpieces) have left doubts about his head carriage (looks quirky), may be one to handle with caution.
Went through last year without a win, looked in the grip of the handicapper never getting the perfect scenario needed to win again. Twice run well enough this year without looking like a winner waiting to occur, good effort at Ripon (9.8f) last time.
Stable debut having had one run over hurdles for Paul Nicholls, pulled a little too hard in that sphere (has also done so on the Flat for the same yard). Only win came on the Rowley Mile over 7f, nearly three years ago, visor on, bit to prove now.
Rather spoilt his chance on return at Doncaster (1m, good), 9-4f by pulling far too hard a trait that held him back for the most past as a 3yo. Too soon to write him off (still low mileage) but not hard to have doubts about this trips suitability.
Respectable fourth at Epsom (10.1f) last time finishing behind Breath Caught but in front of Ironclad but looks no more than averagely treated. Wind surgery since he's still 5lb above his last winning mark, others present more persuasive cases.

Well fancied last time IRONCLAD never really got going on the roller-coaster environs of Epsom having shown himself well suited by this C&D last year off a 5lb lower mark. He’ll need to be in better form to reverse placings with Breath Caught and Data Protection but there’s every chance he will with the former of that duo looking to need further these days. Joyful Mission in the same colours as the suggestion needs to settle better before he’s of interest especially over this trip. Nicklaus enters on the back of a good effort last time but he doesn’t find winning easy and he could be booked for another place.
