Gelding by Make Believe. Closely related to French 1m6f winner Fourada, out of a German/French 1m2½f-1m4f winner. Needs to improve on a couple of below-par efforts since racing resumed last month.

Gelding by Bated Breath. Hints of ability in a couple of career efforts so far, but on balance, a long way from what is needed to play a major role in this company.

Dawn Approach gelding out of a Dubawi mare. Inexpensive €1,300 as a two-year-old. Pleasing debut in a Roscommon 1m2f maiden on good to firm ground last month. Bit more needed but enters calculations in this grade.

Six-race maiden. Career best effort came in a Leopardstown 1m2f handicap earlier this month finishing third of the 14 runners on good ground. Well held since and this looks a tall order.
By Footstepsinthesand. Has several winners in pedigree, including 1m performer Moran Gra. Beaten over 13L on sole start for trainer Nigel Tinkler in October. Hard to make a case for.
Gelding by Animal Kingdom out of a USA bred mare. Resold for €32,000 as a yearling. Related to Newfangled, winner of the Albany stakes over 6f. Worth a check in the market on debut.
First Reserve: Rock Of Gibraltar gelding, beaten a long way on debut at Naas when 14th of 17 in March. Last of 18 on seasonal debut at Leopardstown last month.

Verdict

The Jim Bolger-trained DAYLIGHT COME has been improving with every run since making seasonal debut at the Curragh last month and can get off the mark for connections at the fifth time of asking. The Dawn Approach colt can get the better of the Noel Meade-trained Charlie Bassett who left a dismal seasonal debut behind when running Springbank to a neck at Fairyhouse earlier this month. Pugin, in the colours of the Gigginstown House Stud looks capable of hitting the frame once again, while Sliabh Aughty should not be taken lightly.
