Major shock (sent off 1/2f) when she finished runner-up to a winner who was well-backed at big prices when second at Chepstow (7f; good). Still entitled to feature prominently on balance of her form overall.
Eight-length behind the front-pair when third of four at Haydock (7f; soft) at the start of the month. Winner looks a smart sort, but she does need to step up on what she showed. This is slightly easier though.
Goes up another furlong in trip after trying 5f/6f so far. Something to prove after failing to improve from low-key debut effort when only managing to finish in midfield again when last seen at Thirsk (6f; good).
Dark Angel filly whose bred to stay. Dam won over 1m on the AW as a two-year-old. Closely related to 1m4f Group Three winner Laaheb & a half-sister to Group-placed 7f/1m2f winner Fox Tal. Market vibes likely to prove informative.
Turned over at 4/7f when having second career start at Lingfield (6f; good). Looked a poor race at the time as the winner was a 50/1 shot. However, that filly has since finished third in the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes. Player up in trip.
Runner-up on debut at Ayr (7f; good) to Star Of Emaraaty who has since gone onto represent herself well in 'Listed' company this week. That form is rock solid & with the yard operating at a 22% strike-rate in last 14 days she is a major player.
By Fast Company. Made £17,000 as a yearling and is a half-sister to Group-placed 7f AW two-year-old winner Shalailah. Dam won over 6f. Should have a bright future, but others preferred for the time being.
Iffraaj filly. 70,000gns yearling. Dam won over 6f. Sister to 1m winner. Stamina in her pedigree and top yard have a 25% strike-rate at this track over the past five seasons (2-8). One to note in the betting.
By Heeraat and she was a cheap foal. A half-sister to winners including 6f two-year-old winner Wave Of Applause (who had form over 1m). Surprise winner on debut but her yard are 4-25 with two-year-olds this year (+44.95).
Nathaniel filly. Dam was a winner over 5f-1m (including as a two-year-old). Stable in poor form as it is over the last two weeks (1-45; 2%). Fair standard to aim at on debut so perhaps best watched.
Forecasts
Party Spirit (9/4), Dromquinna (3/1), Locket (9/2), Galah (5/1), Secret To Success (15/2), Infinite Beauty (18/1), Imperial Butterfly (20/1), Sadie's Day (33/1), Topflightsuperfly (50/1), Twilley (80/1)
The step up to 7f offers the chance for Locket to bounce back from her odds-on reverse at Lingfield when she may have bumped into one. Dromquinna was also turned over when sent off 1/2f at Chepstow, but her debut form means she is worth another chance in this open contest. Of the newcomers, Secret To Success and Infinite Beauty are both worth market checks for respected connections. However, we'll go with PARTY SPIRIT who was only narrowly beaten by a decent filly in the shape of Star Of Emaraaty on debut. That filly has since represented herself well in pattern company so the form looks rock solid and the Mark Johnston-trained runner can go one better now.
- Party Spirit
- Dromquinna
- Locket
