Can take a bit of a hold in his races and that's a concern in this small field. Travels well though, and his third at Newton Abbot last time reads well enough. Needs more against two higher-rated opponents but not dismissed if settling.
Useful over hurdles and seemed to translate that ability over fences when a good third to the useful Mulcahys Hill at Cheltenham on chase debut. Ground too soft latest start, not seen since but yard going well, and has ideal conditions here.
Useful front-runner over hurdles here and is a four time winner at the track. Has scope for fences but even best form would require improvement, and he'll need to be foot perfect to take a hand here.
As consistent as you like over the past 12 months and more, winning three times in small fields and always running well. Has the size for fences and with ground/trip ideal, if he takes to fences and jumps fluently, has a solid chance here.
Forecasts
Minella Warrior (5/4), Young Wolf (85/40), Darling Maltaix (5/1), Sirobbie (6/1)
Darling Maltaix needs to settle better and might yet fulfil his potential if he does, but MINELLA WARRIOR has his ground and can continue the good form of the Kim Bailey yard by winning here. With Sirobbie needing to improve for the switch to fences on his debut in the sphere today, Young Wolf might be the biggest danger.
- Minella Warrior
- Young Wolf
- Darling Maltaix
