2018 Irish Derby winner shaped encouragingly in Group 2 fare over similar trip to this last month at the Curragh (good to firm); shouldn't be far away in this company especially if stamina becomes a factor.

Likeable sort with impressive 6-17 record, winner on reappearance at the Curragh (1m, good to firm) and showed he can cut it in this grade with close second to Ancient Spirit over same C&D since (Flight Risk fifth). Player going up in trip now.

Listed winner here over 1m4f last summer on good ground. Outclassed in Group 1 after and testing ground may not have suited when last spotted here. Lightly-raced from respected source and needs a close look on seasonal bow.

Off the mark on turf on his fourth start on the surface when landing a 61k Meydan handicap in February. May have needed the run on return to action behind Oriental Eagle and Pondus in a Listed contest at Limerick last month but this is tougher.

Group 1 winner at the Curragh over 7f as a juvenile but hasn't managed to win since. Has raced exclusively in pattern company in that time and not discounted on return from 424-day layoff with cheekpieces now deployed.

Camelot filly was a Listed winner in France over this trip last year and placed in same grade on final start there in May; interesting recruit for Joseph O'Brien, who also runs Latrobe.

Just one win in 10 starts but has dined at some exclusive tables; big effort in York's Musidora lasts season over this trip and back from a break with Listed second over 1m4f here last month (caught on the line); place claims for sure.

War Command filly has come up short in pattern races in the UK during 2018/2019 but she has plenty ability. Likely will have an upturn in fortunes for shrewd new connections before long but this is no easy starting place after 250 days off.

Galileo colt won on debut last season at the Curragh and faced some stiff tasks thereafter as a juvenile; promising reappearance when 2L third in Group 3 Derby Trial over C&D last month. Forced pace in main event and faded, but can do much better.

Dual winner over a mile this season from three starts (close second in between over this trip at the Curragh); justified cramped odds with all-the-way Killarney win eight days ago and jumps up in class now. Potential for plenty more.

Forecasts

Keats (11/4), Bowerman (4/1), Latrobe (9/2), Simsir (13/2), Flight Risk (8/1), Bolleville (10/1), Iberia (12/1), Raise You (16/1), Verbal Dexterity (18/1), Sh Boom (20/1), Rakan (25/1), Fresnel (25/1)

Verdict

Rather surprisingly this race has eluded Aidan O'Brien since Viscount Nelson won in 2011. The Ballydoyle supremo fires two here, with Killarney winner Keats strongest in the betting. He'll need to improve again and it would be dangerous to overlook stablemate IBERIA at a decent price given he ran well in C&D contest last month before pacesetting in the Irish Derby. There could be plenty more to come from him and he may benefit from a different role today. Former Derby winner Latrobe is very much respected while Bowerman showed himself capable in this grade last time. This is very open, with Flight Risk, Fresnel and Bolleville all capable sorts.
