Gives weight away all round but is one of the more in-form contenders in this. Could be open to further improvement given he has only had three starts in handicap sphere and is only 4lb higher for narrow reappearance win over Janus.
0-14 but posted a likable reappearance effort when third at Leicester (1m; good to soft). Step up in trip should suit on that evidence and he must be considered at least for a place if able to back it up.
Maintained good run of form when finding the in-form Songkran just too good over C&D recently. That form has since been boosted with the winner going in again last week. Never won on turf in five starts but a major player on form.
Almost managed to finally break his duck when beaten a head over 1m at this track last week. That took his record to 0-17. Step up to 1m2f may bring about some improvement, but if in similar form he should be on the premises again.
Was in good form when last seen at the start of the year on the AW, recording a couple of wins at Wolverhampton (1m/1m1f; standard)in the process. Now returns from 151-day break and claims if able to go well fresh.
Has plummeted down the weights since going on long losing run and is now 24lb below his last winning mark. Recent performances suggest he is nowhere near ready to bounce back to form and so he is best watched for the time being.
Forecasts
Quemonda (6/5), Derry Boy (11/4), Janus (10/3), Ifton (8/1), Windsorlot (40/1), Attain (50/1)
Apart from Attain it is hard to rule any of the five remaining runners out with confidence. Derry Boy and Ifton are still maidens but their recent form in defeat would entitle them to have a say. He has never won when fresh, but Windsorlot should still have a part to play on his return from a short break given he was in consistent form when last seen at the start of the year. For win purposes, this concerns QUEMONDA and Janus with the former fancied to confirm the form with the latter after their recent meeting. The selection is 3lb worse off with Janus but he has only had a handful of starts and his progressive profile makes plenty of appeal.
- Quemonda
- Janus
- Windsorlot
