Unplaced in six previous starts over timber and not much evidence of that changing; beaten 26L over 2m5f at Tramore on Saturday and may need further relief from handicapper.
Twice a Wexford winner over hurdles though not since spring of 2019; is definitely capable from this sort of mark but recent comeback at Killarney (2m1f, good; 16-1) yielded a fading 60L defeat having raced prominently.
Two-time winner on the Flat in Britain at modest level; yet to pose much threat in four hurdles runs including handicap bow at Bellewstown (2m½f, good; 100-1) early this month. Lots of improvement to find on what he has shown.
Limited signs of ability in seven starts thus far on Flat and over hurdles, including reappearance last month in 1m4f Limerick maiden. Can only be watched.
0-15 over timber but was knocking consistently on the door when last spotted in the spring of 2019; has a 503-day absence to overcome now but mark is workable and so commands at least a look in the betting.
Mare is a 26-race maiden in both codes, she had previously shown some ability in maiden hurdles for former trainer but was completely tailed off at Tipperary (2m4f, good to yielding; 40-1) last month on h'cap bow/second run for this yard.
Unplaced in eight starts over hurdles previously, four of them in handicaps. Yet to tackle a trip this long and the mare has to improve markedly on first start for 310 days if she's to get involved at the business end.
Modest sort hasn't improved enough in recent Limerick and Kilbeggan starts since switching to handicaps over timber to merit consideration in first-time tongue-tie.
At least got competitive for a while last month in a Kilbeggan maiden (2m4f, good; 80-1) before fading late to be eighth of 14; mare goes handicapping for the first time here and might have an improved run in her.
Seven starts, five of them over timber, and this mare has rarely beaten anything home; 52L off the winner on handicap bow at Tipperary (2m4f, good to yielding; 80-1) last month and remains easy enough to oppose on form.
SP of 400-1 for second start in a handicap at Kilbeggan (2m, good to yielding) on Friday past tells a tale; raced in rear and beaten 28L at the end, the filly has lots to work on currently.
Mare has placed three times in 13 starts over timber, including at Tramore (2m, soft; 12-1) and Killarney (2m1f, good; 11-2) either side of 188-day break this year. Entitled to her claims in this line-up.
0-7 over hurdles with previous trainer and is returning from a year off here for new yard; previous form in handicaps suggests she's going to be up against it.
Four-race maiden over hurdles and not seen on a racetrack since the summer of 2016; starts out for new trainer in first-time tongue-tie and teenager is surely best watched.
Forecasts
Zinat (11/4), Isosceles (5/1), Casamari Abbey (11/2), Marino Marvel (13/2), Oliver Hardy (7/1), Yeat's Encore (12/1), Her Approval (12/1), Be Yourself (16/1), Trenchtown Rock (18/1), Our Nancy (25/1), Last Move (50/1), Dayereh (66/1), Gimligonnabelucky (80/1), Focus Well (100/1)
This isn't a race in which anything can be trusted implicitly. Zinat has twice made the frame either side of a break in 2020 and so boasts fair credentials, but she's exposed enough and might be worth taking on if chalked up short. A chance is taken in MARINO MARVEL who was in decent form when last sighted and might have been found a presentable opportunity to get on the board following a layoff. Yeat's Encore is a possible improver.
- Marino Marvel
- Zinat
- Yeat's Encore
